Nikon 20mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor
9 out of 10 points and recommendedsmall, handy, relatevely fastexpensive, quality controlagree with the previous poster - this lens is not superbly sharp as Nikkor 24mm/F 2.8

Yet, imo, it's still a good alternative to bulky zoom lenses on digital body with nice snapshooter view of 32mm lens.
This lens is prone to aperture cease at wide open - this happened twice! with mine (the reapir is costly-$125+ so get long term warranty) -
Tokina 17mm f/3.5 AT-X 17 AF PRO Aspherical

I had it on Nikon film cameras and it performed very well - with corner to corner sharpnes and minimal flare. Might be an interesting all around shooter on digital body. -
Nikon 28mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor
10 out of 10 points and recommendedGreat lens. tiny, fast and super easy to use. Great color rendition. On film cameras produces very natural perspective. On digital bodies it becomes 42mm lens - should be very pleasing.

Nikon 24mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor
10 out of 10 points and recommendedsmall , light, easy to use, superb optical qualitynoneProbably the best lens I have ever used. Super sharp, with quite acceptable nominal distortions of a wide angle lens.

This lens however, like many other great Nikkors was designed with film cameras in mind, so it may not work optimally on digital cameras. The digital sensor relies on the light path to hit it at 90 degrees angle which is not an issue with film, so ( and this especially true with wide angles) you may experience light fall off at the corners. -

Built like a tank – I witnessed one taking direct fall on concrete. Besides broken filter and outer collar – there was no damage to glass or the lens inner mechanisms = inexpensive repair.
Not recommended if you don’t want to scare people with its bulk.
