ORLANDO, Fla., PMA Show Booth # 2261 - February 28, 2006 - Corel Corporation today announced its support for PANTONE™ huey™, Pantone's new, easy-to-use monitor calibration tool, by offering it with Corel® Paint Shop Pro® (PSP) X. Just as Paint Shop Pro X brings the power of professional-level tools to a broad group of consumers, huey provides monitor calibration with breakthrough form and functionality at an affordable price. In support of this shared vision, Pantone is making huey available to Paint Shop Pro X users through the Corel Zoom-In newsletter for a special promotional price. Additional information is available at www.corel.com/newsletters.

Introduced in September 2005, award-winning Corel Paint Shop Pro X is renowned as one of the easiest-to-use, most complete and affordable digital photo editing software solutions on the market today. It has ushered in a new era of photo editing software by putting the power of advanced photo editing into every user's hands, whether they're a first time photographer or a seasoned professional. With a revamped user interface featuring a new, integrated Learning Center and Browser Palette, Paint Shop Pro X is designed to accelerate learning and increase productivity.

Paint Shop Pro X also offers full International Color Consortium® (ICC) color management, including an improved software-based screen calibrator. While this provides basic monitor calibration, some users will want to increase the accuracy of their monitor to better preview what their prints will look like.

"To date, advanced electronic monitor calibrators have cost several hundred dollars, putting them out of reach for semi-professionals and hobbyists," said Doug Meisner, senior product manager for Corel. "huey offers high-quality performance at a truly affordable price, and is a perfect companion to Paint Shop Pro, which for years has been the renowned choice for photographers who want a professional-level tool at a non-professional price. We have tested huey with Paint Shop Pro X and it works seamlessly with PSP's color management features to let users take their passion for photography to the next level."

Developed in partnership with GretagMacbeth and brought to market by Pantone, huey is designed for digital enthusiasts, gamers and any computer user wanting absolute color and clarity. huey is distinctly different from other professional monitor calibration tools on the market that require a basic understanding of color to operate. In addition, it is the only device that continually adapts a monitor for changing room lighting.

"huey breaks new ground in terms of size, performance and ease-of-use," said Andy Hatkoff, vice president, Electronic Color Systems for Pantone. "With its sleek design and professional-grade technology, it is a superior tool for any digital photography enthusiast who wants to edit and print stunning and vivid digital images."
