Latest Digital Camera Reviews
The 900-series of the Canon ELPH digital cameras is usually pretty deluxe, and the Canon SD990 doesn't disappoint. Added to the 14.7-megapixel sensor, 2.5-inch LCD, and 3.7x lens is a full Manual exposure mode that should pique the interest of photographers wanting a little more control of their pocket digital camera. Image stabilization is of course standard on the Canon SD990, as is face detection, intelligent auto and intelligent contrast, but a new Quick Shot mode primes the camera to capture action when used with the optical viewfinder. The Canon SD990 is replete with interesting twists. Click here for our Express Review of the Canon PowerShot SD990 IS.

Cute, small, and fun, the Canon PowerShot E1 brings intelligent, automatic simplicity to a, dare-we-say, adorable little digital camera body. It's small and attractive, but it's not all about the looks. The PowerShot E1 captures clean, high-quality images with great color and exposure, boasting useful automatic tools such as Face Detection and a variety of pre-programmed scene modes. With its 4x zoom lens, optical image stabilization, and 10-megapixel CCD, the PowerShot E1 can handle a range of conditions with ease. If you're looking for an excellent pocket digital camera at a good price, your search is over. The Canon PowerShot SD880 IS has a nice 28mm wide-angle lens, a 4x zoom, a very clean 10-megapixel sensor, and clean, sharp corners even at wide angle. The Canon SD880's shape is excellent, its color is appealing, and it functions like you'd expect. Rather than tiny buttons on the back, the Canon SD880 has nice big ones, easy to see and activate. It even has image stabilization built right in. If you're not convinced yet, we're prepared to go into greater detail, just click here for our review of the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS.

Strictly speaking, it's not a digital SLR, but the Panasonic GH1 kept us quite busy going over the myriad features of this refined interchangeable-lens digital camera. Image quality has improved dramatically from the G1, making the Panasonic GH1 worth the extra money not only for its video mode and 10x lens. But it's the video mode that makes the Panasonic GH1 unique, capable of HD video capture in both AVCHD and Motion JPEG. What's more, you can shoot video in Program, Shutter-priority, Aperture-priority, and Manual exposure mode, a first for any digital camera, SLR or otherwise. With live view, fast autofocus, a swiveling LCD, a 12-megapixel sensor, optical image stabilization, and impressive printed output, there's a lot to cover on the Panasonic Lumix GH1. Finally, a waterproof digital camera that looks the part: the Canon PowerShot D10. Capable of diving to 33 feet, falling from four feet, and withstanding temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit, the Canon D10 is ready to weather some tough conditions; tougher than most digital cameras. Its 12-megapixel sensor delivers crisp images to its 2.5-inch LCD, and its 3x zoom is protected within a sturdy bell housing, protected from impact and weather. The problem was apparently caused by a database issue related to photos imported by prior versions of the program. At the same time as fixing this issue, Apple has also taken the opportunity to correct various... (more)
